According to The Block, Cboe BZX, a stock exchange under the Chicago Board of Options (CBOE), has submitted a 19b-4 filing for the listing and trading of XRP exchange traded funds (ETFs) on behalf of issuers such as Bitwise, 21Shares, and Canary Capital. XRP is a cryptocurrency issued by Ripple Labs, a memory blockchain technology development company, in 2012.
Submitting the 19b-4 document is the second step in the two-step process of proposing a cryptocurrency ETF listing to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Once accepted by the SEC, these applications will be published in the Federal Register, initiating the agency's approval process.
In addition, US asset management company WisdomTree also submitted an application for an XRP spot ETF to the SEC in December, while NYSE Arca, a fully electronic exchange under the New York Stock Exchange, also submitted a 19b-4 filing on January 30th, intending to convert Grayscale's XRP trust fund into a spot ETF. CoinShares also submitted a registration statement for the CoinShares XRP ETF last month.
In addition to XRP ETF, Solana ETF and Litecoin (LTC) ETF have also made new progress. reportedly, SEC We have started soliciting public opinions on a proposal for a listed and traded Grayscale Solana ETF, and have confirmed the application document submitted by NYSE Arca. On the same day, the SEC also solicited opinions from the public regarding the listed Grayscale Litecoin ETF.
